Introduction: What Is Optivo?

Optivo is esbconnect’s intelligent identity resolution and retargeting platform – designed to help brands identify and convert anonymous website visitors into engaged customers. Similar to US platforms like Opensend and Retention.com, Optivo brings advanced visitor recognition and email activation capabilities to the UK and EU market in a GDPR compliant way.

When a visitor browses any page on your website and leaves without converting, Optivo steps in. By using our proprietary AI-powered fingerprinting and ID resolution engine, Optivo can recognise anonymous visitors in real-time and determine – with high confidence – whether they match our GDPR-compliant database of 17+ million UK consumers.

What Is the Subdomain For?

Your subdomain will be used to:

  • Send retargeting emails on behalf of your brand (e.g., optmein.abc.com)
  • Improve email deliverability and inbox placement
  • Align messages with your brand tone and experience
  • Maintain your reputation as the sender

We recommend using:

optmein.yourdomain.com

Example:

  • Brand: ABC Ltd → Subdomain: optmein.abc.com

This subdomain will be configured on our sending platform (e.g. Mailgun) and used in the “From” address, links, and tracking – giving your customers a seamless experience.

What We Need From You

Please provide the subdomain you wish to use and configure the following DNS records in your hosting environment (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, 123-Reg, IONOS):

You’ll receive a full DNS pack from esbconnect after providing your chosen subdomain.

Optivo Email Flow (Post-Visit Retargeting)

  1. A visitor lands on your website and browses anonymously.
  2. Optivo identifies the visitor and our AI-powered ID resolution algorithm matches anonymous visitors to our GDPR-compliant database of 17 million+ active consumers.
  3. Based on AI confidence score, a retargeting email is triggered:
    • First Email: 30 minutes after the visit. Optivo triggers and sends a branded email encouraging visitors to subscribe to your newsletter.
    • Second Email: 48 hours later (reminder or offer email). If they don’t subscribe, we send a follow-up nudge email.
    • Third Email: Two weeks later (conversion-focused message).

This sequence is fully configurable and designed to maximise opt-ins and engagement.

  3. We’ll send you the DNS records to publish via your domain host.
